Project Manager

VisionMAX Solutions Inc. – Who We Are:

In 1998 VisionMAX started as a custom software development shop and over the years has amassed a sizeable inventory of solutions primarily for Media, Tele-communications, Government and Retail sectors. Our goal was and is to provide top-notch, innovative solutions at a lower cost than the big consulting shops or specialty boutiques. We have the advantage of big shop experience, applied on a smaller scale. We are a Canadian company, with head offices in Mississauga, Ontario and sales representation in the USA.  And now 11 years later, over 100 employees strong with continued growth plans, VisionMAX continues to deliver top-notch IT business solutions from start to finish, on time and on budget - every time.

The Role:

The Project Manager leaders and motivates team members, develops project plans, manages all team efforts to complete project deliverables within agreed-upon schedule and budget, ensures that quality standards are met or exceeded, conducts project status meetings and generates detailed reports for presentation to all project stakeholders.  Specific duties include but not limited to:

  • Manage customer expectations – balance between customer needs and VisionMAX interests.
  • Keep lines of communication open among all project stakeholders.
  • Drive results through all team-members in a positive and collaborative style;
    • Interview and assign resources, communicate objectives and prepare assignment reviews
  • Develop project effort and budget estimates.
  • Understand project architecture and effectively design project solutions in terms of deliverables and tasks.
  • Create and manage project charters/statements of work.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans and budgets including the tracking of all milestones.
  • Pro-actively manage people and tasks to deliver the project on time and on budget.
  • Conduct interviews, workshops, and requirements walkthroughs.
  • Coordinate and review all project deliverables
  • Identify and assess risks, severity and impact plus determine and implement mitigation strategies then communicate risks to all project stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Proactively track, monitor and report health and status of projects including risks, issues, changes and deliverables.
  • Organize and facilitate project meetings.
  • Plan for and conduct regular project team status & review meetings.
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with our customers' Code of Business Conduct.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Skills and Qualifications We’re Looking For:

  • A proven and demonstrated history as an experienced Project Manager;
    • Experience managing large/complex business or systems integration projects and/or
    • Similar consulting services experience.
  • Strong IT applications development and Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) background.
  • Post secondary Degree – preferably Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent combination of education with work experience. 
  • Strong skills with Project Management tools and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholder groups and project teams;
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, highly innovative with an uncompromising drive for quality.
  • Outstanding communication skills – verbal and written – plus strong negotiation skills.
  • A team player with a track record for meeting strict deadlines.
  • High level of initiative, decisiveness and business acumen.
  • A PMP designation plus a history of successfully applying these principles are an asset.
  • Travel in GTA is required – Office is located in Mississauga and various customer sites across the GTA.
