Summary
The Project Manager is expected to provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle; develop the project plans; complete projects deliverables within the agreed schedule and budget; ensure that quality standards are met; conduct project status meetings and generate detailed reports to present to internal and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be able to work both at our head office in Mississauga , as well as at client sites. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are required for this position, as it will require significant interaction with peers and clients.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage client's expectations; understand client's point of view & needs while keeping VisionMAX interests in mind
- Keep lines of communication open among all internal and external project stakeholders
- Be able to get results through others in a positive fashion; interview and assign resources, communicate objectives and prepare assignment reviews
- Develop project effort and budget estimates
- Understand project architecture, effectively design project solutions, in terms of deliverables and tasks
- Create and manage project charters/statements of work
- Develop and manage detailed project plans and time budgets, including the tracking of milestones
- Pro-actively manage engagements in order to deliver the project on time and on budget
- Conduct interviews, workshops, and requirements walkthroughs
- Coordinate and review all project deliverables
- Identify and assess risks, severity and impacts, determine and implement risk mitigation strategies, communicate risk to client and internal sponsors as appropriate
- Proactively track & monitor financial health and status of project; proactively track all risks, issues, changes; and deliverables
- Provide status updates to the project authorities
- Organize and facilitate project meetings
- Plan for and conduct regular project team status/review meetings;
- Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with our clients' Code of Business Conduct
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years in the role of Project Manager in IT, including systems development lifecycle
- Large project exposure and/or previous consulting experience
- Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience
- PMP designation a plus
- Proficient with Project Management tools & methodologies
- Demonstrated experience in Process/Back Office environment
- Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholder groups
- Excellent analytical, problem solving & decision-making skills, verbal and written interpersonal and negotiation skills
- A team player with a track record for meeting strict deadlines
- Proven experience in a business group/team
- Experience in managing projects with large-scale business system integration components.
