With clients like Bell TV/Bell Mobility, T-Mobile, Sprint USA, Digicel, The Government of Ontario, The Federal Government, Toronto Police, Qwest, GE, Kraft, Pizza Pizza, HBC, Pharma Plus, Canada Life, Sears, 3M, XM Satellite Radio, Royal Bank, Scotiabank, Henrys.com and IBM, Dave has grown VisionMAX from a small team in a 1200 sq/ft office to over 105 staff in Canada and the US and 22,000 sq/ft of office space, organically without outside investment. Our growth is projected to be 35-50% year over year for the next 3 years and we have started 3 new exciting product companies to expand our enterprise custom development services to the SMB marketplace in product and SaaS (Software as a Service). We are starting to get large enough and have significant international success that we are landing on much larger competitor’s radar. We were one of the best kept secrets in the large enterprise integration and custom application development space for years; with a proven sustained track record of successful delivery. From the inception of VisionMAX, Dave commissioned our development and reuse platform, the VisionEngine, as a core differentiator for the company. We have a full-time R&D team working on the VisionEngine core. Our clients have always had the benefit of this 1200 class Java platform for rapid application development, browser-based visual systems maintenance, and infinitely scalable set of tools as part of engaging VisionMAX to work on their projects. We have always provided this platform as a “closed open source” license model. Our clients can use it royalty free within their company (with or without us doing the development/enhancements), in return, we make the core VisionEngine stronger, more efficient, and bullet-proof with each engagement and bring this benefit and upgrades to all of our clients. We have even trained our competitors on the VisionEngine so that our clients have more than one choice in future projects. We have frequently had our clients work with us for weeks/months in our offices side-by-side with our staff learning and working with the VisionEngine so that they are self-sufficient once the development is complete. We also provide 24x7x365 call centre support and operations management for clients that need this service. We have successfully implemented over 50 installs of the VisionEngine Enterprise platform at Banks, Government, Telco, Retail Giants, and small-businesses. The platform is Java compliant, and runs with any operating system, any web-server, Java application server, and any JDBC database. Dave has over twenty-one years experience working in some of the largest IT departments in North America. Dave has also held the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO) for a U.S. technology company. Prior to forming VisionMAX Solutions Inc. nearly 12 years ago, he spent 6 years with Canada's largest retailer in systems development, then he was a senior consultant with the largest Canadian IT consulting firm (currently a division of IBM). His role was senior project manager, application architect and senior consultant for their Interactive Commerce practice (Internet development).
Dave has spent his career as a programmer/analyst, project leader, application architect, technical sales engineer, project manager and as an executive for other companies. Combining this experience with a consultative selling approach (provide clients with solutions based on real-world experience) has enabled VisionMAX to grow year after year with 50-200% sales growth. Dave attributes the success of VisionMAX to his ability to put together a great team of people who really care about delivery of quality applications. Dave and his team at VisionMAX take great pride in our client's successes, and strive with our own personal reputation to never compromise on quality and customer satisfaction.
Dave was a teacher at George Brown College in Toronto teaching information technology courses covering E-Commerce, UML Modeling, and Wireless Applications. Dave's practical and hands on approach enabled his students to build working e-commerce sites using IBM's WebSphere Commerce Suite, and wireless applications running on cell-phones and PDA's. Dave wrote the entire course curriculum and built an online testing and assignment evaluation system for frequent testing and immediate feedback to his students.
Dave is an experienced speaker and has brought VisionMAX's perspective on systems integration, SaaS, SOA, wireless applications, Retail systems, IVR/VOIP/Telephony self-service, E-Services, and leading-edge Satellite, IPTV, Digital VOD solutions to his engagements. Dave studied at the University of Toronto taking their BSc . Computer Science program with a major in computer science and a minor in French.
