POP-UP STORE – Solution:
VisionMAX Retail in the Cloud POS software

Background
As part of their 175th birthday celebration, Holt Renfrew, Canada’s premier luxury
fashion store, launched a mobile pop-up store (Hot@175) selling limited edition
merchandise designed by internationally renowned graphic artists. The HOT@175
mobile store toured across Canada over a three week period with stops in Toronto,
Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver.

The Challenge
Two weeks prior to the launch, Holt Renfrew required a mobile POS solution that
was quick to set up, easy to use, and provided Head Office with real-time
access to sales.

The Solution
Holt Renfrew equipped their mobile pop-up store with two terminals running the
VisionMAX Retail in the Cloud POS, essentially a wireless, browser-based SaaS
application connected over the Internet to a cloud-based server. Central access to
store sales was immediately available following completion of the transaction on
the POS.

The Results
VisionMAX was able to leverage its Omni-channel Retail in the Cloud platform to
rapidly configure and deploy the pop-up mobile POS solution within the compressed
schedule to launch. The mobile POS Software-as-a-Service “pay per use” model was
ideal for the temporary operation of the pop-up store. Following a successful three
week promotional tour across Canada, Kyoko Kobayashi, Vice-President Information
